Speedbumps Don’t Work

Below is a picture of the newly installed speedbumps outside where I live in Peterborough…great you think, traffic calming…and yes perhaps they do calm traffic. Problem is that it’s actually less noticable and bumpy to travel over them at 30 opposed to 15mph! Silly speedbumps!

thats the point of speedbumps. You feel them less at the speed limit
ah…clever
I never knew that
so a safety device, made presumably to try and save peoples lives, works most effectivly when doing the maximum possible speed that you are allowed to do, therefore causing most risk to others, why don’t they make them them so you ‘feel them less’ at half the speed limit?
sorry i dont get why ‘the point’ of them would be to make people drive at the fastest legal speed possible with no room for error.
you realise that although speed bumps cancel out a speeds… the rough calculation is you always take an eigth of the life off your shocks for every bump over a certain amount so it’s like
life span at 0 speed bumps, 100 days
life span at 1 speed bump, 87 days
life span at 2 speed bumps, 79 days
et ect ect
speed bumps are a complete waste of resources in my opinion - most of them do nothing to slow down large vehicles… as the width of the vehicle is more than enough to just cruise over top of the bump…
