2008 & Greenary…

1 January 2008 5 views One Comment

So just when you thought you’d got used to writing 2007 it’s no longer the right thing to write…2008 is…and as we enter the first few weeks of writing wrong dates I though I’d blog.

This is the first hiynameismark.co.uk blog of 2008 and I hope you all had very cool new years….I spent last night in a few Great Yarmouth pubs with some friends and the very lovely Jo…(a mushy picture is at the bottom of this blog), which was cool, we stayed out until half two and made our way home to our individual pads!

And here we are in 2008…now those people who have been awake through 2007 will have noticed a bit of a plug for being green…and the greenary seemed to have hit me whilst Christmas shopping…now most of my shopping was done online, but the parts of it I spent around shops I spent time trying to use as little carrier bags as possible…and so I thought I’d share a couple of ideas to help you’re greenary n 2008!

1 - Buy A Bag For Life - We all know what a bag for life is, it’s a large, strong bag which you part for 10p of your money for, I think Sainsbury’s ones are the best because they’re made from recycled carrier bags to start with. If your bag breaks you take it back to the shop and they switch it for another.

2 - Keep your bag on your person - If you can put your bag for life in your coat pocket, in your handbag or even down your bra! This way when you’re out and about you don’t need to take a plastic bag from a shop…instead just whip out your bag for life (if you’re bag for life is down your bra I suggest extra care when whipping out so nothing else comes out!) and use your bag for life instead.

3 - If you order online try and recycle the packaging - HMV & Amazon both use cardboard to pack your goods which you can recycle…other companies may use jiffy bags, if so you can open these carefully and use them when you send people things…there’s not a lot you can do with plastic packaging so perhaps suss out which companies use cardboard packaging and use them more!

So there you have my thoughts to help your greenary…I’m sure as I think I shall post more…and now…here’s the mushy picture promised

    You spelt ‘Greenery’ wrong.
Normally I am a nice, unfussy person. But not with spellings.
    *boo-hiss to bad spelling*.

    Yours.
